From Fiber to Yarn

I was always kind of surprised by the price of yarn and although I am willing to pay for quality, it intrigued me to know more about the process of yarn making.

During a felting class I touched for the first time Merino fiber. Yes, I already came into contact with sheep, angora, camel and cashmere wool and fiber but I was mesmerized by the sheer variety of colours. My interest in felting was put aside as I had to know all about spinning!

After a few joyful afternoons spinning big fat overtwisted yarn, I found my rhythm and the world of spinnsters had one more happy camper!

A Kiwi2, a Country Spinner as well as an E-Spinner from Ashford are my spinning tools. They give me a very wide range of yarn composition and structure.
